The Black Taikun Project is a multimedia startup powered by our network of independent artists and community of creators. It's a hub for innovative energy with content that challenges, expands, humors and encourages the world to look deeper in our personal universes to figure out how we can become a better whole.

While most media and entertainment companies are gate kept and tightly bound, we are building a network to give emerging artists and creatives an opportunity to be a part of something bigger than themselves while maintaining their autonomy. Our goal is to leverage the power of collectivity to benefit individuals. 

 

Art and creativity doesn’t stop at media and entertainment, it’s innovation too, so we also welcome emerging brands and small businesses to join this collective. Podcasts, shows, books, movies, events, resources, blogs - we'll bring it all and welcome it all.

​Our Name

Taikun, in The Black Taikun Project, is pronounced TYCOON. We spell it this way because it is a Japanese term of respect for an independent ruler who had no imperial lineage- aka someone who had no royal blood, yet was still a ruler or “supreme commander”. In english the word tycoon is a person of great influence without a formal title. We believe everyone has an inner Taikun or Tycoon and we’re a vessel for that to be explored.

 

Our Rally Cry 

We create a mixed collection of entertainment + experiences with and for the underdogs AND the ones on top. The dreamers AND the ones who haven’t had a chance to dream yet. The confused, the hopeful, the game changers, the doers, the insatiably curious, the moonlighters, and the ones ready to break barriers and shatter misconceptions. For the kids doodling in the back of the classrooms and the ones who are inspired by the art they see. For the people who don’t want to escape reality, but connect with it on a deeper level, or even better, create their own. We’re here for the major L’s and the insane victories. In this world everything can and will happen... We don’t believe in ceilings, and the sky is just the beginning.
